Our neighbors beside us had their home tested when they bought it. Elevated levels were found and they ended up having a radon mitigation system installed. They recommended that we also get our house tested and gave us Radon’s Solutions name! We had them come out and deploy a continuous monitor test. Our test results came back high! Radon Solutions came out and installed a system in our home in a day that lowered the levels under 2. I thanked my neighbor for the recommendation and plan to do the same thing with other friends in my sub-division!

I appreciated Rob Donald’s work on my house. He was very friendly, answered all my questions, did nice work and cleaned up very well after his system installation.

The radon mitigation system Radon Solutions installed is discreet and operates quietly. We hardly notice it's there!

We were purchasing a house off North Main Street. We had Radon Solutions perform a test and the levels came back over 50! We were SHOCKED and wondered whether we should proceed with the sale of the house. Stan assured us that radon should NEVER be a reason for not buying a house because they could ALWAYS be successfully lowered. They ended up having to install a multi-pipe system that was joined together in our basement. Follow-up testing produced levels at 1.3. We all breathed a sigh of relief! Thank you so much Radon Solutions for taking care of our family!

We what I would call an “expensive” crawl space encapsulation installed in our house several years ago. Recently, when we went to sell it, the radon levels performed by the buyer came back high. Stan used his expertise to install a radon abatement system into the existing plastic membrane. Not only did he successfully lower the levels, the indoor quality in our home was also greatly improved! Gosh, I only wish I had known previously about these benefits, we would have had it done YEARS ago!

I SO much appreciate the knowledge and professionalism of the guys at Radon Solutions. We got a quote from our home inspector to do a radon test on the house we were purchasing. The levels came the levels in the basement came back HIGH! During our installation, Stan asked me if the occupied space over our crawl space had also been tested at the same time as the one in the basement? I responded “No, but why do you ask?” He replied, “Well, I don’t know if there is a problem there, but we also install radon systems in homes that only have a crawl space!” I got concerned and asked him what we should do? He said we should contact the home inspector and state that the Radon contractor who is installing a radon system to address the elevated levels in the basement is guaranteeing us that they will FIX the areas HE tested or keep coming back until it is! And then to ask him: ”Since he didn’t test the bedrooms OVER the crawl space, was he going to “guarantee” me that there wouldn’t be a problem there? I did just that! The home inspector told me that when the radon guy put out a follow-up test to check the radon levels for his system, have him put one in one of the bedrooms over the crawl space and HE would pay for it! Fortunately, the levels came back LOW in both areas, but I was concerned that my home inspector hadn’t properly protected by interests on the transaction. I appreciated using someone who was “certified” not only in installing radon systems but was in “radon testing” and was knowledgeable of everything that might potentially affect the radon levels in a home!

The house we recently were buying from our builder had passive radon piping in it. They told us that that should keep radon from being an issue in the home. Our real estate agent recommended we have a radon test done in the home and provided us with Radon Solutions name. They radon a continuous radon monitor test for 3 days and the levels came back TWICE the EPA recommendations! We had them cut in and install an appropriately sized fan on the pipe and then retested! The result came back just above 1. They explained to us that Radon is a gas that is “heavier” than air and it doesn’t just rise up through the radon pipes like “helium”. It has to have a vacuum on it for it to be drawn out and exhausted.

We had a radon system installed I the condo were buying 5 years ago. Radon Solutions installed it. Recently, the fan on our system failed and we called Radon Solutions for service. The fan had “gone out of warranty” a month prior. But Stan took the initiative to cover the fan’s failure himself since the failure was so close to the fan’s warranty expiration date. I was VERY appreciative!

The radon system that Radon Solutions installed 10 years ago is still running “quietly” and “flawlessly” after all these years! We recently had them come back to do a re-test and our levels are still around 2.0. It’s nice having a contractor who “delivers” MORE than they promised!

The radon system Radon Solutions installed in our home has given us peace of mind knowing that our indoor air quality is safe. Thank you SO much!

My husband and I were purchasing our first house and have 2 small children. I didn’t know anything about radon and it scared me! Stan explained how the system they were going to put in would work and that once installed would be guaranteed to successfully lower the radon to safe levels. This made me feel SO much better! Thank you, Stan!

- Meredith K. - Greenville SC | 11/30/2020

Installing a radon system was a smart decision for us and was installed very discreetly!

- Karen G. - Pickens SC | 09/15/2020

The installation done by Radon Solutions exceeded our expectations. Not only did they successfully reduce our radon levels but the system they installed was done discreetly to minimize the cosmetic burden on my home. I had companies provide competitive quotes, but their recommendations involved systems that were much more “visually intrusive”.

Unfortunately, I opted to use a company to install my system that I found on the internet. They talked a good talk and promised me that had done “thousands of systems” over the years. That comment coupled with a “low price” over the phone prompted me to use them. The guys they sent out to perform the installation drove a branded van with out of state tags. I asked where they lived and they said Tennessee but that they did work all over the Southeast. Before they started, the lead guy commented that they didn’t know there was a load bearing wall in my basement and that it would cost another $500 to deal with it! I wasn’t happy, but I had a real estate closing fast approaching and didn’t have time to get someone else out there. I thought that overall, they did sloppy work and took a lot of liberties in moving throughout my house. When they were finished, they wanted to be paid the WHOLE amount! While writing the check, I asked if they could give me a warranty. The older guy went to his van and brought back a form and he said: Here “sign this to validate we did the installation!”. It was a page of legalese that I was only able to read later that indemnified them regarding any issues associated with their installation. It stated that IF the post radon testing came back high, they could do MORE work, but at an additional price! They left me a charcoal test kit that I had to use and then FEDEX overnight to a radon lab to get my results. When I finally did so, the results came back high! I tried reaching out to the company to address the issue, but when I finally got through, they were very evasive regarding WHEN they could get back out there! I couldn’t wait for my real estate transaction. I ended up finding Radon Solutions and they came out the next day. They told me there on the spot what exactly what was needed and provided a “not to exceed price”. I authorized them to do the work and they completed it the same day. After their work, they left a radon monitor for 3 days and then came back, hooked up a printer to it and printed out the results (on the spot). Our levels came back at 1.9. The whole experience has been “traumatic” for me! All I can say is” “Caveat Emptor”, “Let the buyer beware” and THANK YOU Radon Solutions!

The buyer of our home had a radon test done by the home inspector and the levels came back high, (4.2), and he recommended to the buyer that action needed to be taken to lower it. My real estate agent told us about Radon Solutions. Stan came out and met us at the house to see what might be done to fix it and give us a quote. He asked for a copy of the radon report we had been provided with by the buyer. Stan commented that looking at the test that there was 10-12 hours of high numbers during one point on the test. He said based on the dates the testing was performed he remembered that there had been “heavy rain” on those days. He said any radon testing performed is but a “snapshot” of what was encountered the house for the subject period. He recommended that another test be performed over 3 days. We asked him do so and the result came back at 2.7. Our agent argued with the buyer’s agent that the test should not have been done during the rain according to EPA recommendations and that it had “temporarily elevated the levels in the home”. So, we were consequently NOT required to pay to put in a mitigation system. I am not sure about how other companies operate, but I was impressed that Stan did something that likely ended up costing him a mitigation job. However, his professionalism in “doing what was right” and not “just right for him”, gave him a reference he will have for lifetime!

The house we were buying at the Cliffs came back high so the seller hired Radon Solutions to do the work. My understanding was that with basement homes system are normally installed in the basement and routed up through a house. However, Stan proposed a solution that involved installing a system from the “outside” so that drilling and piping was necessary in finished space. The system worked great to fix the problem. I was elated that no pipe had to be placed on our newly installed bamboo flooring.

The Radon Solutions’ crew arrived promptly for their appointment. Rob took several minutes to explain what they were planning to do and allowed me to ask questions. They then got to work and had the radon system installed in half a day. If only I could count on that sort of “customer service” and “responsiveness” by other service contractors!

The house we bought from a builder had “passive radon piping” installed inside it. We were told that that would take care of any radon problems in the home. We lived in it for 3 years until we saw a PSA on radon on television recommending ALL homeowners to get their homes tested. We ordered a radon test online and the results came back high. We called the builder to see about taking care of it but he said that they were only responsible for putting in the radon piping according to local building code and that it would be up to us to address! Undeterred, we called Radon Solutions and Stan came out to look at it. He did vacuum testing on the pipe in the attic and it encountered a fair degree of resistance in the pipe. Stan maintained that his experience told him that when the house was being built the plumber the builder used to install the pipe allowed concrete to get into it when the slab was poured. So, it didn’t matter what size radon fan was put on the pipe, there was blockage that needed to be drilled out and then pipe could be resealed. After he did this work, the radon levels came down almost immediately under 2 on his post installation test report!

I obtained several quotes for my radon system installation. Some of them wanted to give me a price over the phone from “out of state” without ever having seen INSIDE my house (not just see pics of it on Google maps.). I decided that “quality” was more important than “price” and decided that only those who were willing to come visit my house should be considered. Meeting Rob Donald with Radon Solutions, was a delightful experience! He explained to me what my options were and the strengths and weaknesses of each potential pipe route. Then he provided me with a written quote that covered, (in detail), everything we had discussed. He also provided a “not-to-exceed price” they could live with or would keep coming back for FREE! This told me that they knew what they were doing! Many Kudos Rob for a successful installation!

We recently sold our home and the system that Radon Solutions installed in our crawl space was used as a “selling point” by our real estate agent. Not only were the radon levels successfully lowered but the ventilation system they installed greatly improved the overall indoor air quality in the home AND reduced the moisture in the crawl space so that we didn’t need to purchase a pricey dehumidifier!
